Getting the Job: Lunch and Learn with Career Services

Goodwin’s Career Services team has initiated an on-going series of Lunch and Learn sessions open to the Goodwin community including students and alumni. As part of Goodwin’s career-focused programming, the goal of the Lunch and Learns is to assist students in networking, branding, and ultimately landing a successful job. In the first series of 2015, participants learned about accessing the supports provided by Career Services; taking advantage of the College Central Network; and presenting themselves favorably to potential employers through social media sources like LinkedIn.

Goodwin’s Career Services mission is “to support and empower students and graduates in developing, evaluating, and effectively implementing their career plans,” and reactions from participants to the inaugural series have been positive. Director of Career Services Patricia Cicchetti said, “Our team is planning to offer more sessions based on the feedback provided by our students and graduates on the type of workshops that will better suit their needs. Our goal is to reach out and create an awareness of the Career Services offerings.”
