Not bad, Goodwin. Several people emailed the correct answers to last week’s challenge, identifying the edgy holiday movies described below. There can be only one winner and that honor goes to Victor Montalvo. Stop by the bookstore and pick up your soda. Here’s the recap:
1. When an evil new Santa seeks to rid the world of Hanukkah, a smooth-talking Jewish private investigator turns the tables and saves the Festival of Lights – The Hebrew Hammer

2. A group of well-armed villains crash an LA highrise during a Christmas Party. Unfortunately for them, Detective John McClane is proving to be quite the Grinch. Yippee-ki-yay. – Die Hard

3. It’s Christmas in London and romance is in the air for several people, including the Prime Minister, a philandering executive, and a boy with his first crush. The movie features nearly every famous modern British actor and actress. – Love Actually

4. Billy Bob Thornton drinks and swears through days playing a mall Kris Kringle, all while planning a heist with his dwarf accomplice. Rest in peace, John Ritter. – Bad Santa

5. The rules were simple, but Billy couldn’t stop his new pets from getting wet or eating after midnight. The result? Christmas chaos for a small New Jersey town. – Gremlins

This Week: Game Show Co-Hosts

Bob Barker’s birthday got us thinking about some of our favorite game show hosts. It would be easy to just let you all match up the host with the shows that made them famous, but we want to recognize the hard work of the co-hosts. In that spirit, here’s this week’s trivia two-parter. Answer them both for your chance at the soda drawing:

1. What co-host has walked hundreds of miles pacing back and forth to unveil letters on a popular syndicated game show?

2. Long before he started hosting his own late-night talk show, who frequently cracked jokes on the host and contestants alike when he was co-host of Win Ben Stein’s Money?

Please email your responses to Matt at

Thanks and have a great week!  If you know of anyone new to Goodwin, either as a student or employee, please forward us their email address.

If you have something you’d like included in upcoming newsletters, please email us at by the end of the week preceding your announcement.
